Welcome! If you're reading this page, you're probably at least a little bit curious about Heart of Dakota homeschool curriculum. We have discovered a real love for Heart of Dakota, and we are currently getting ready to start our third HOD program.
We're not affiliated with HOD in any way; we're just a family who has discovered that Heart of Dakota is the right fit for our family. We love the simplicity, the Christ-centered approach, and the hands-on lessons scattered throughout the program.
What you read on this blog is our true-to-life, honest journey through Heart of Dakota guides. I'm happy to tell you what works, and I'm quite willing to share the things that 'flop' for us as well.
So far, we have used the following programs. Please click on the picture of the guide to view our blog posts covering that particular program. For the 2015 - 2016 school year, we are using all three of the guides pictured below.

I stopped blogging for a while in spring 2015 when life was crazy-busy. I do have many pictures from these units saved on my computer. Perhaps someday, I'll make a post of all of the photos. We'll see!)

Hi! I just came across your blog after a few months of debating what curriculum to go with for our first year homeschooling (5yr old and 3yr old). Your week by week blogs and printables for MFW are so great! I've been leaning toward MFW but was curious too about HOD. I see you switched to HOD for your oldest. Could you provide some insight on your decision (or do you have a blog post about it you can point me to?) What I'm nervous about most is not challenging my kids enough academically in a homeschool environment. I've heard it's pretty hard to mess up K and pre-K, but I am a bit concerned about setting the stage for the future, you know? I hear all the time in the news that homeschool kids preform just as good, and in fact, many times better than "regular" schooled kids. That's encouraging and great but I do wonder - what curriculum were the parents of those kids using? Anyway, I digress. I appreciate any insight you might have.
