Thanksgiving Tot Pack

**October 2012: This pack has been updated, and you can find the newest version at Teachers Notebook by CLICKING HERE!

Thanksgiving happens to be my favorite holiday.  First of all, I was born on Thanksgiving Day.  Second, and more importantly, it’s a fairly non-commercial holiday in which we show our gratitude to God for who He is and what He does for us.

It’s important to me that my children know the story of the first Thanksgiving, so that’s what this tot pack is all about.  Click on the picture below to download.  ENJOY!

If you’re looking to teach your child about the first Thanksgiving, including some of the history of this holiday, this is a GREAT link.  Michelle at Musings of Me created this ADORABLE printable book with her son, Channing, last year.  Click on the picture below to see the artwork for each page.
LOTS of Thanksgiving printables are available from 2TeachingMommies, including this roll & graph activity:

1+1+1=1 offers a fun Thanksgiving pack, including this cute color by number turkey:

Several years ago, my neighbor boy & I made this felt “Spin a Turkey” game, based on a game found at Let’s Explore.  Be gracious…we were working with random felt scraps and the cutting skills of a 5 year old! :)

I love Thanksgiving too! My son was supposed to be a Thanksgiving baby, but came 3 weeks early. Thanks for sharing these. I would love to learn how you do these packs as I would love to offer some in Russian. As there are not materials available here to teach my kids, I am just going to have to make them. I welcome any advice and help you may be willing to give!

I'm looking forward to doing this with my youngest 2. Looks like fun. And I'm with you. I like Thanksgiving, partly because I was also born on Thanksgiving.

Yes, it is saying I need a password to download?

I'm so sorry, ladies! It should be working fine now. I passworded (or so I thought...) ONE file there, but it put a password on EVERYTHING instead. I just fixed it, so you should be good to go.

If not, try here...

We will be moving on Thanksgiving day (long story) and so I need portable options both for schooling leading up to Thanksgiving, and for fun stuff to do while we are traveling on Thanksgiving day. Your pack rocks! Thanks for making it available, I know they are going to love the activities, and I will love that they are busy and still celebrating the holiday!

Amy ~ Now that you've mentioned it, I can see why that would be confusing to your daughter...or to other children, too, for that matter. Thank you for pointing out that detail! I'm glad you've enjoyed the packs, but I sure am sorry for making something confusing. When possible, I'll try to keep those things in mind!

Trust me, I only figured it out because of my daughter! It would have flown right over my head!!

I still love your printables and will certainly be back.

Thank you for providing this free pack. I was looking forward the the thanksgiving Bingo as a way to start introducing my kids to the items of thanksgiving. My 4 year old and I tried to play the bingo in this pack and it was a lot more frustrating than fun. The blue card has 2 orange pilgrims and half the spinning combinations don't appear on any card. I think before I try this again I'll print out the bingo cards a second time and cut those pieces up and we'll draw from a bucket. That way everything we draw will be on the cards.

Thank you soo much for sharing these printables. I am a SAHM and my daughter is only 15 months old but I love teaching her new things and having her learn everyday! Once I go through some of these with her I will post on my blog and link back to yours! Thanks again!!!

KL ~ I tried replying via e-mail or a blog link in your profile, but neither option was available.

THANK YOU for letting me know about the mistake. I have a busy day ahead of me, but I will make a change to this sometime on Tuesday. I'll make sure that, by Wednesday morning, the Bingo game is corrected and ready to go. I apologize for the mistake, and I'm sorry that it caused you frustration.

MamaDuck76 said...

Okay, I sat down & spent my evening recreating the Bingo game.

I double-checked each card, so hopefully they are now error free!

The spinner and cards now only have 6 picture options, so there should be less frustration when using the spinner. There will still be an occasional spin that results in a "not on my card", but that proves true in most games of Bingo.

Thanks for your willingness to share your frustrations...I really do appreciate it!

Michelle ~ I'm glad you got it to work!

I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. I was babysitting yesterday, so this is the first chance I've had to get back to you...and I'm glad to see you've already figured it out :)

I'm always glad to help, and usually reply within a couple of hours...again, sorry for the delay!
