Uncle Jim invited the family to his house last week Wednesday for dinner and swimming. Keith was in Pittsburgh for work, and my niece Emma was staying with us for a few days. Since Daddy couldn’t come, we made sure to get lots of pictures and even a video clip.
To this point, Alex has had a life jacket or a pool ring. He’s also been a little shy about getting into the water. That morning, though, we ran to Walgreens and picked up some Lightning McQueen swimmies.
I was amazed that he just got right in the water and had a great time! He wasn’t the least bit hesitant about getting into the water. It didn’t take long before he was “swimming” independently, and after a while he even got brave enough to jump into Papa’s arms.
Now, I wouldn’t trust these cheap swimmies unless we were keeping a close eye on him. Really, though, he did an excellent job! We’re so proud of him for working up the courage to have fun in the water! I just wish Daddy could have been there for the first independent swim!
“I’m swimming! I jumped into the pool to Papa!”
Max wasn’t nearly as brave. He cried as soon as he saw the pool, and it took a LONG time to convince him that it was okay to be in the water. He did really enjoy the basketball, though!
“Max is trying to put the big ball into there!”
Nana enjoyed some good cuddles with baby Jensyn while the rest of of played in the water…
