I’ll confess – I am slacking off now that summer is here! What we did this week was fun, but it has not been organized or put together. Tot School is more of a “what I threw together” sort of experience.
This was supposed to be V is for Very Hungry Caterpillar. It turned out to be caterpillar, but no letter V. Oops. At least Alex doesn’t have any idea of what it was supposed to be, and he already recognizes the letter V.
dotting the “C is for Caterpillar” sheet from Confessions of a Homeschooler ~ He’s improving on his aim with the bingo marker. The missed spots were actually on purpose…to see how Mommy would react.
We took turns playing this caterpillar dice/number recognition game from Confessions of a Homeschooler. Alex needed a little coaching to understand what to do, but he liked the game.
pages from his cut & paste book ~ Alex is sooo in love with using glue, and he’s getting better at it!
I finally added “medium” into our sorting because of this fun sorting mat. Alex tended to go too quickly and make mistakes, but he seemed to understand the three different sizes when I encouraged him to think about it and compare it with the caterpillars on the mat. He *ASKED* to do this activity again later in the week, which is impressive. Normally he isn’t too thrilled about size sorting.
We pulled out the beans, and Alex happily sorted for…about…uh..7 minutes…before dumping the beans all over the kitchen floor. He then got a lesson in sweeping.
He’s sitting on the kitchen floor practicing the letters that his baby brother dumped while cruising around in the walker.
Alex asked me to pull out our homemade barn for his tractors and pickup truck.
Alex did lots of puzzles, and he insisted on doing them upstairs in our playroom rather than at the kitchen table. He cheered when he finished!
We visited the zoo with Aunt Donna and his cousin Emma. More on that later…
My Tiny Tot, Max *Ü*
Max is 9 months old, and he’s no longer a tiny “slug” (as Daddy calls little babies). He’s curious, wriggly, and loves to play.
Checking out the water table…with a little help from cousin Jessica & from the walker. He’s so thrilled to have a way to reach this water now!
Practicing his letters (ha!) Since we’ve pulled out the walker, Max has discovered all the fun big brother toys that he can reach…and eat… ;) Playing with his ball popper
