Lost In Translation

Here was our conversation after naptime ended today:

Mommy:  Alex, would you like to have a snack?

Alex:  Yes.  Seven.

Mommy:  Seven?  Seven what?

Alex: Seven.

Mommy:  Seven crackers?  Seven strawberries?

Alex:  How about seven nines?

He’s eating animal crackers right now, but he’s none too happy about it.  I haven’t a clue how to feed him numbers.
