Lunch With Jen

(Can you tell today is "catch up" day?)

Jen Schaap hasn't met Alex yet. How pathetic is that? She's one of my very good friends, and I haven't seen her since...ummm...November? Why'd she have to go & move to Joliet? She should move to NW Indiana!

So, on Saturday we met in Merrillville for lunch at Baker's Square. We had a great time chatting & Alex got to snuggle with his Auntie Jen. We would have spent more time together, done a little shopping, and had a fun afternoon, but...well...ask Keith about his keys. His keys enjoyed lunch with me at Baker's Square while Keith was stuck at home waiting for me to return! I'm lucky he still loves me, lol! ;)

Here's a picture of Jen with Alex & a picture of Alex wearing his new outfit from Auntie Jen.

Grandma & Grandpa

Grandma & Grandpa Schurman came for a visit on Friday. Every time they've seen Alex lately, he's been Mr. Fussypants. They wanted to spend a little quality happy time with him, and they got their wish. Alex was a good boy! :)

His changing table is amazing. It's not only for changing diapers; it also changes moods. Alex can be in a rotten mood, and 9 out of 10 times, he'll be "fixed" just by setting him on the changing table. Instantly, he's happy!

By the way, Grandma, you make EXCELLENT pie! YUM!

Look, I have STORAGE!!!!

After 2 years in our house, we figured we'd better get the cabinets for the laundry room. We put it off to save money, but we were thinking they could discontinue the cabinets at any time...so we forked over the dough & got our cabinets. My handyman husband & his dad did this on Saturday morning, and I filled the cabinets on Saturday afternoon. It's so nice to walk into a tidy room! Now all that's left is the crown moulding and a little decorating.

Alex Meets the Sipkemas

Yesterday our friend Amy came over with her kids, Bryan & Jessica. The kids kept Maggie busy out in the yard while Amy snuggled the baby. It's obvious that Amy has Schurman blood in her, as Alex cried when she took him from me. What does my boy have against Schurmans? ;)

Bryan & Jessica came in after a while to take their turns with the baby. They both held him, and Bryan even got to give Alexander a bottle.

Sipkemas, we need to get together with the guys soon & all go out to eat or something!

Other than that, it was a drooly, spitty, messy day. Let's hope today is better, as Alex is getting his 3 month pictures taken

14 lbs already!

(I don't know why the words are clickable...sorry!)

Alex will be 3 months old tomorrow! Wow! My friend Karen has a baby scale (she's so cool!) so I weighed Alexander at her house last night. The scale said 14.06 lbs, but that's with clothes on. So my baby boy is about 14 lbs.

0 - 3 month clothes are for up to 12.5 lbs. Alex still fits in most, but his pants are getting too short. We broke out the 3 - 6 month clothes over the weekend, and I'm slowly setting aside the 0 -3s as they get too small.

Here are some fun pictures from Easter weekend.
